Blog Inspiration

I was NOT inspired to start this blog because of reading the book by Gretchen Rubin entitled "The Happiness Project."

For anyone interested in increasing their personal happiness level, which I think (based solely on the title, and the description of the book) is what that book is all about, then please Google "The Happiness Project." There is a whole website and community of individuals trying to do that.

My inspiration for this blog was a book I found at the University of Regina's book store, during a book sale. I picked it up because I liked the colours on the cover, and I bought it because of the details the author provides about Paris, where I am planning a trip to.

The book is called "The Goddess Experience, Goddess Guide II" by Gisele Scanlon, and once I got myself past the title, I thoroughly enjoyed the book. Who wouldn't?!?! The product description from Amazon reads like this:
"...More than 1000 valuable tips that anyone can afford, to bring a little Goddess magic into your life. 'A divine guide to all the good things in life!.with delicious recipes, fashion advice, top travel destinations and inspirational ideas, any goddess would be mad not to keep a copy by her bed.'..."
Around the same time as I found that book, I also became acquanted with Pinterest, and fell in love. I am a list-keeper by habit, and have lists for EVERYTHING - daily tasks, trips I want to take, trips I don't want to take, a bucket list of things I want to do, books I want to read, books I have read, the ideal characteristics of the land I want to buy, the things that are necessary in the house I want to build on said land, and so it goes.

Pinterest gave me a place to keep all the clippings from all my favourite web sites - fabric, furniture designers, shoes, fashion designers, books, places to visit, anything my little heart desired.

And so this blog was born. It is my way to chronicle all the little things in life that quite simply, make me happy. For my readers, (if I actually have any) expect to see links back and forth from here to my Pinterest lists.

Also, every once in a while, I just have to rant about something. I'll try to keep those separate and clearly identified so they can be skipped by people who just don't care that much about my ranting...
